as promised, here's my write-up on the day.

my friend laura and I got the the hotel around 8:30am so that we could wait in line to meet bruce campbell. I'd had a little bit of an issue in that my wrist band never arrived but that was taken care of quickly and on my way back outside I passed sid haig [he was captain spaulding in both "house of 1000 corpses" & "the devil's rejects" as well as appearing in tons of other films. we met him at the same convention two years ago] and also brian o'halloran [he's in almost all of kevin smith's movies, most notably "clerks" & "clerks 2" as dante] so that was cool haha.

we finally met bruce around 12-12:30 and then I got into line to meet roddy piper while laura jumped into line for jason mewes. after I'd met piper I joined her in line and also met jobeth williams when we got a little closer. she was so nice and I think she looks amazing now.

then we met jason mewes and he was pretty funny. laura had a camera malfunction so he actually grabbed it and took the picture of them himself which made laura basically melt on the spot haha. she has a huuge crush on him. after we did that it was going on 3:30 and we were starving so we hit friendly's for some food =)

after eating and feeling energized again, we returned to get in line for malcolm mcdowell. while we waited laura saw butch patrick and I met with gunnar hansen. he was such a quiet man! I told him that he was the first horror movie character to really scare the stuffing out of me as a kid and he said "I'm glad that I could be of service" haha. he also enjoyed my doll. I thought he'd have seen a hundred of them but he said he hadn't seen any so I was the first!

malcolm mcdowell was just an all-around cool guy to talk to. he has a fantastic sense of humor and he really made a point to be personable to every single individual that met with him. and his eyes are just stunning to see in person. they're striking on film but it was just unreal to stare into such clear blue eyes. certainly a man who has aged quite nicely haha

after mr. mcdowell we noticed that alex vincent, who had played the little boy andy in the first two "child's play" films was there. I've run into him on two other occasions, once at a NIN concert and again just last year during my ghost hunter's excursion. I decided that this was becoming more than coincedence and decided to say something to him. we talked for a little while about NIN and stuff, then got pictures and autographs with him. by then laura's brother-n-law had arrived [he was our ride home] and laura met with amanda plummer ["pulp fiction" and "so I married an axe murderer" among others] and I met with butch patrick.

then we decided to make one last effort to meet with bill moseley who was eluding us all day long. and as it turned out we'd saved the best for last! he was by far the highlight of our day. he's super funny, EXTREMELY nice and he gave us hugs haha. meeting bruce campbell was a dream come true for me, but bill moseley just made the entire day even brighter. after meeting him I quickly ran over to meet tom savini who is somewhat of an idol to me. he's a special effects magician as well as a director and actor in his own right. in person he's a little boring =X but that's okay, I still enjoyed meeting him.

after all of that we were done with getting autographs and decided to spend some money on stuffs! before I'd even entered the dealers room I found an action figure of "the crow" so I jumped on that [later laura would buy the last one] and when I first entered I found an evil ash figure from "army of darkness" as well as a "night of the living dead" lunchbox. I adore metal lunchboxes, I also have a grindhouse one haha

then I turned around to find myself staring at a shelf full of living dead dolls. laura had found a jason one for herself at another table. I took a peek at the dolls and quickly found isaiah and then jubilee. I couldn't believe my luck but I didn't get too excited because sometimes the prices at these things can be wayyyy overboard so I asked the guy running the booth how much the dolls were and it turned out they were still priced at the normal level! now I really couldn't believe my luck so I snapped them up. he also had a maggot doll and I was so tempted to get her as well but I decided not to. I'm more partial to killbaby and want to get her instead but he didn't have her haha. he did have cookie though which also surprised me. laura picked up the psycho-billies from the same guy and they weren't jacked up in price either so I told her she was extremely lucky in getting the dolls she did for the prices they were.

after that I just wandered about. I picked up a t-shirt for a friend and then we came upon a table full of handmade purses and bags. they were SO cute and I immediatly fell for the frankenstein one she had displayed so I got that and a mini-messenger style bag with a zombie movie ad printed on it. the line was called sourpussclothing.com/ if you'd like to check them out. they were really nice and gave us a bunch of free pins and stuff.

by that point we were tired and close to broke plus the place was winding to a close so we headed home finally around 7:00 that night. it was a looong day but so worth it. I'm looking forward to the next convention, they're a ton of fun. and you get to meet famous people!

Wow samm great pics and thanks for all the details. i sooo wish i could have made it there. were Ed and Damien there this year or just the dolls?

I don't believe they've ever had ed & damien out there which sucks because it would be awesome if they did. they have dealers rooms where people rent out tables to sell their stuff so that's how you come across living dead dolls.

I had a blast, conventions are LOOONG days but completely worth it in the end. thank you so much =)
