Then she hung up.
Seconds later, the phone rang again.
“I’m REALLY Sorry If I hurt your feelings!” It was Sandy again.
“What?” I was a bit stunned.
“Brianna called me, and told me to call you and bitch at you. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it!”
I was still stunned, “Then why did you do it?”
“I don’t know…I guess I’m Brianna’s slave in a way..” she laughed and I shivered at that statement, “but Brianna IS really pissed.”
“But why?” I asked.
“I don’t know, she just hates Ray and I’m guessing she probably is still in love with him at the same time. On top of that she just thinks you can do better and doesn’t want to see him with her best friend.” Sandy answered with a burst of sudden smartness that sort of scared me.
I stayed a silent and heard Sandy pop a bubble with the gum she was chewing.
“So anyways I’m gonna go now ok?”
“Um ok Sandy, uh see you at school…” I trailed off, still a bit stunned, and she hung up the phone.
I tried calling Brianna, but she never answered the phone. Seeing as she had caller ID, and knew that I was calling, she probably was ignoring it on purpose.
I went on the Internet and nervously chatted about harmless things with Evelynn, all the while waiting to jump at the phone the second I rang.
By 5:45pm it had been three hours and Ray hadn’t called. I was starting to feel a bit let down so I picked up the phone to dial his number.
While I was holding the phone, poised to dial, it rang.
“Hello?”
“Hey, um… are you alright?”
It was Ray.
“No.” I sniffled “Not really. One of my best friends hates me enough to get someone to call and bitch at me! I thought friends didn’t care how you were with, they cared about you. Apparently, Brianna’s not a true friend.”
It was getting really hard to hold back the tears now.
“Everything just got so messed up, so fast.”
Ray sighed. “I heard what she did, it’s horrible. But remember you have me now, and I’ll help you get through this.”
I sighed as unwanted tears fell down my cheeks.
“I know.”
“Well I’m glad…if I could hug you I would.” He joked over the phone.
“I have to go now,” I giggled “Bye.”

The next morning before school completely and utterly shocked me.
Not in a bad way, though. Brianna was completely nice to me and didn’t mention anything about the night before. The only thing was, I could see it in her eyes, she was pissed. Big time. Every time she saw Ray she would sneer and look disgusted in me at the same time.
“True friends don’t lie, Sandy!” Brianna yelled into the phone, “They’re always there for you, they care, they look beyond the choices you make and try to steer you in the right path when you’re ready!”
That was two weeks ago, during some scandal between Sandy and Brianna. This was now, and Brianna hadn’t lived up to anything she was preaching. I snuggled closer to Ray in the bus seat and forgot about my wrecked social life for a few minutes.
Sorry if it's so short! I've been pretty busy lately >.<
