Refrain;
Although I can’t see
The gentle breeze
It sends a shudder through
The lilac trees
It whistles
Through the rows of corn
It watches as
New life is born
The fragile dewdrops
Slide down blades of grass
Whispering the ghosts
Of memories passed
[Refrain]
A single raindrop
Falls to earth
signaling death
also life and rebirth
But a raindrop is only
One little thing
In the many changes
Life will bring
[Refrain]
The sun’s breath
Heats the land for a moment
Because in that brief moment
The rain hasn’t overthrown it.
