ok so i was in the final year of my gcse's when i wrote this (i was 16) we were studying gothic literature (well that's what my teacher said anyways) like 'the raven' and we had to write our own short story in the 'gothic' style. when i wrote this i didnt fel like it was finished but when i tried to continue it i got stuck so i left it as it was. Let me know what you think!
:-/She walked, treading lightly on the ground, not realising that she was being watched. Two eyes watched her walking, to where, they did not know but watch her they did. They noted her every detail, from the folds of her deep blue gown and its elaborate sliver trim highlighted by the moons pale glow, to the darkness of her cloak, whose hood kept her face hidden from sight. Onwards she walked and on they watched, entranced by her beauty. She stopped beside a stream and the eyes watching her were glad for it reflected her face on the water. They took it all in, from her shiny ebony hair to the ivory paleness of her skin. A short time past but the eyes hoped the time would never end, as her face would be stolen away from them, but the woman soon continued on her journey and the eyes continued to watch hoping for a chance to see her beauty again.
As she walked the eyes grew more impatient, longing to see her beauty once again. They longed to touch her face to feel the warmth of her skin, to look deep into her eyes and to feel her heart beat. But they were too afraid, afraid to be seen; all they could do was watch and hope that she would feel their presence. But still she walked, over the grass and under the star lit sky.
The eyes were terrified when she walked into the woods and was hidden from their view by the trees. They followed her into the darkness of the wood and wondered; What if they had lost her? Would her beauty be hidden within the trees forever?
No she couldn’t be lost, they wouldn’t let her be, she meant too much to them to be lost forever. They looked in amongst the trees, hoping to catch a glimpse of their love. They saw her briefly, but in the time it took them to blink she had disappeared again. The eyes were both worried and afraid for the girl, for she did not know the horrors that the forest could bring. They continued their S*earch for the girl moving deeper into the trees.
They found her within a clearing, standing deadly still. She had removed her hood, her hair falling in soft waves down her back. They were no longer afraid and began to edge closer to her, desperately hoping they would not startle her. As they edged towards her they heard a snap and looking down, realised a twig had broken under their soft footfalls. They looked up just in time to see the girl spin round quickly, but instead of the beautifully blue eyes they had seen before, the eyes looked in terror as they realised her eyes now glowed a brilliantly bewitching yellow.
