I never knew I had family here in Ireland, an ancient land of beauty and grace
Inherit, a big gloomy castle, certainly, wasn't in my plans
But there is something else here, something nothing can erace
I feel this in my very being, each and every day.
I just can't conceive all the doom and gloom, that this ancient place has seen
The battles, things from long ago, that happened here, in this place that has survived over so much time
These things I ponder, as I look out over these old ancient moors of green
On the moors, out there, being as silent as a mime.
The history of my ancestors, goes back as far as one can remember
But on the moors, something far more exist there, what I feel there, I just can't quite explain
When on the moors, when the wind blows, here something I can't explain stirs
Never would I go on the moors at night, something is there, something after a time, I would be totally insane.
I know spirits occupy the castle, that ended up belonging to me
But on the moors, much much more than spirits reside out there
The ancient battles, hopes and dreams went to their death, with no one to hear their plea
The solders that died there, all their hatred and rage had to go some where.
Memories and desires of those that die, I believe their energy remains
Imprinted within the earth, just waiting to remind others they are there
So whatever resides on the moors, is definitely from another dimension, another plane
Men going to their death, never again to see those they love, in their death, they knew this, so on the moors, remember to BEWARE!
Don't be surprised if you see a solider or two
There to remind us, how they felt when they left this world, when they died
Solider, back then, probably inducted to fight for a cause, they didn't believe in, but their choices were few
So on the moors, if you are receptive, to the supernatural, you too will fell the emotion of those that cried.
