We solemnly walk in a funeral procession, to the only man I ever loved
This being the last time, I will ever be so close to him
In this march of death, I take solace in knowing, in the after life, his soul will be as free as a dove
I, his wife, have walked by his side many years, so one can understand why I am so sad and grim.
In our life together, we were as one, equal, one and the same
I have been near you for forty days and forty nights
The priests mummifying you, since death played it's lethal game
But soon, you will be real eased, and your soul can take flight.
There is one last duty I must perform, because I was your wife
You were tin Pharaoh's, royal court, us never really needing anything
We were blessed by Pharaoh and the Gods, together we had a very good life
And now in death, only a sad song can my heart sing.
We stop, right outside the mastaba, that will soon become your body's new home
Here I perform my very last act, before your journey to the after life
Here with an adze, I will open your mouth, so you may speak within the after life's dome
This enables you to speak the magic words, so within the after life, you meet with no kind of strife.
In the after life, now you are free to breath, the air of the after life's unknown
You may nourish yourself, in whatever way you might require
Hoping you have learned something in life from the seeds you have sewn.
You are destined to ride with Rah, in his chariot of fire.
So, as of now our life together in this life officially ends
I stand quietly by, as they put you in your new home
Praying that in the after life, against everything you face, you say the right answers, and all the good in your life you defend
Praying within the after life, you find a home, and you will never have to roam.
