i had no idea either, but my bf says that if you download itunes (pretty sure it is free), the itunes program should automatically convert your windows media files into the format they need to be in order for you to be able to load them onto your new ipod. i hope that works! if not, lmk

I have an iPOD and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I use it everyday, everywhere. Okay, it should have come with this CD that you load into your computer...and that gives you a program that enables you to download and convert of all your music to the iPOD format. I have never used the iTUNES store that is available, so I've never had to pay a dime for my music, other than the CD's themselves. I spent an entire week downloading all my music. If you need more help, ask me and I'll see what I can do, otherwise just read the book it came with. Once you get the hang of it, you wont be sorry, believe me!!!!!!!!!!
