well I got to the venue at 9:45 in the morning, because my friends were supposed to get there at 10 but of course they didn't show up til 1! we had a lot of fun hanging out, well I did because I have a crush on the one  but anyways haha. it ended up pouring rain just before we went inside so I was all damp but that was okay. ended up against the rail in front of hunter. the first opener was nightmares of you and I didn't really like them but they had a quick set. dillinger escape plan was next, and I've never seen or heard anything by them *I am familar with the name though*. they had this insane light work going on, strobe lights and things flashing EVERYWHERE. I was so dehydrated by this point that the lights were making me want to puke haha but finally they chilled out and I could see the guys in the band and stuff. the music wasn't bad, I might be able to get into it, they definitly pumped me up for AFI though. after about a half hour of set-up, AFI came on! this was my third time seeing them and it was just amazing. I've never been front row for them, to be singing my heart out with davey RIGHT THERE in my face was just insane. eye contact and everything. he and jade came over to our side a lot. I got the setlist from livejournal: Prelude 12/21 Girls Not Grey Leaving Song pt. 2 Ever and a Day Bleed Black Kill Caustic Summer Shudder Silver and Cold A Single Second Love Like Winter Morningstar Death of Seasons Days of the Phoenix Dancing Through Sunday Miss Murder Encore: God Called in Sick Today Totalimmortal "ever and a day" is my absolute favorite song EVER, and I've been lucky enough to hear it at all three shows. can I just say, that I want to kill all crowdsurfers? seriously, what posesses people to do that?! it's so SO annoying! and they kept catching me off gaurd so I couldn't properly protect my head and at one point I thought I was being beheaded. then another came along, towards the end and it was just a little kick but then suddenly they hit me again and it was this full-on kick to the back of my head, right where my neck connects with my skull. omg, I seriously saw stars and I don't mean AFI! it hurt soooooooo badly. I'm really lucky the person was wearing converses and not boots or I'd probably be brain damaged now. afterwards me and my friend, along with her sister, brother-in-law and a girl they'd just met at the show sat and waited for them to come out. adam [drummer] came out almost immediatly and there were seriously around 50-60 people out there. we pushed our way through and got autographs, my friend got a picture with him. then we waited. and waited. and waited... around 3:00 in the morning we gave up and went home. nobody else came outside which made us incredibly sad. hopefully they come around again soon. |

OH my goddess fallen you are a lucky lucky girl!
I just love AFI, davey is so cute. Since I was 11 I loved the stupid song "i wanna get a mohawk but my mom wont let me get one" but the newer stuff, like sing the sorrow type stuiff they do is amazing. its beautiful! ;D

Crowdsurfing...they annoy me when they kick me or land on me...but I loved doing it myself =p so I shouldn't really complain. AFI are good! I'm never gonna be able to pay for all the gigs I want to go to!

omg lmao, I cant belive u went to see AFI that isnt fair and tu sed its your 3rd time lol am jealous now  lol. they played some fab songs aswell it luks, its not fairrr. I live in newcastle nd i think they've only been once or twice. i can w8 for them to come bcak now! ;D |
