 This was my first but not last tattoo that I got in august of ’05. It says Grapefruit in Japanese. My mom and I always joked about people who got tattoos in Asian characters because most people don’t research them and end up having tattoos that say things far from what they wanted in the first place. The joke went some thing like this. “Hey mom… what do you think that guys tattoo says?” “I don’t know what do you think?” “Id bet it says your mother sucks grapefruit” So. I got “my mother sucks grapefruit” translated by one of the exchange students that was staying here in Hemet and it was really long so I just got grapefruit. If that little Japanese girl didn’t like me and it says some thing totally different.. Well.. It just proves my point that people get tattoos in other languages and a lot of times they don’t know EXACTLY what they say. So it could say some thing obscene and I’m all right with that… |

this amuses me SO much. very cool that you actually DID go do research and find someone trustworthy to do it so that you would get what you wanted. I too wonder how many people are walking with phrases like "I eat dog poo" on their lower back or something.

Im glad you like it, i realy love having the story behind it. its nice to beable to tell some one why i have it and what it is and have them laugh. and i can honestly say i have never told some one who didnt remeber it. ive had people who i met one time and told about it come up to me months later "hey!! your mother sucks grapefruit right!?"

I'm working on a fourth tattoo right now. I have so many ideas, it's a pain trying to settle on just one to focus on haha
