that would be v. cool but you should make sure of the design and also research out the place or people who are doing your tat. Some tat places can be cheap and careless not to mention unsanitary.
Do you have parental permission? A girl i know went to get a tat done and she didnt have permission but he was the only one who agreed to do it for her. Two years later she really regrets having a huge ass spiderweb on her hip. it was twice the sixe she had hoped to get done!
What I would do is use some black henna ink, which can last a couple months and see how you feel about living with the tat. Once your cool to go with that, I guess you need to have the courage to go through the pain. good luck. i bet youll make a good descision

Sounds awesome =] but yeah..i'd reGrave-dig the place definately, talk to people who've been there. and if you don't have permission then I wouldn't go and get it done. although I'm presuming you do have permission. and if it's going to be something as visible as that make sure you won't regret it and that the design you pick is one you definately want. you won't be able to hide one on your knuckles easily.
I'll shut up now...I'm starting to sound like my mum when I told her I want wings on my back XD

dedkid666~ I really hate to be a downer because I know how exciting is it to get ink done. but PLEASE, please please think long and hard about this. for one thing, you may legally not be able to get it done. I know a lot of places will not tattoo a minor at all, even with a parent's permission. these places are usually the best to get done at. in my opinion someone who doesn't care about age doesn't care about you or your safety, which is what worries me.
also at 14, I had so many ideas of what I wanted to get done and now at 22...I am so glad I never did. knuckle tattoos could impair your ability at future jobs, so keep that in mind as well.
in the the end you're the one who has to go through life with them, so your opinion is the only one that matters but just think it through all the way before committing. I have three, all of which I thought long and hard over.

yeah..i was thinking the same as fallen...I know over here you have to be 16 even with parents permission to get a tatoo. you don't want to go to some manky place just so you can get it done before you turn 16/18/whatever age you need to be. that would be my main concern here.
and you said you're not sure what you want, don't rush, if you can't decide by friday, then wait till you know definately what you want =]

yeah I fully respect the whole no tattooing of minors, in my opinion I think 16 is too young to be getting it done. but in the end, people will do what they want and so long as they are happy that's all that matters.
I'm actually writing a paper on tattooing and piercings *and other body mods* and how they have filtered into mainstream america.

well it would have, but my topic got changed cuz now I'm in a group so I'm no longer writing it on that but it would have gone through the history of tattooing, and then the main focus would have been on it's impact in the media *such as the formations of magazines, sites like the suicidegirls and actors/musicians/sportsplayers in general who are seen with ink and body mods.

foblin~ I don't know the new topic confuses me. something about comparing the way americans look at certain situations like slavery and abortion. kind of going through time starting with slavery and working our way up to now with abortion and stem cell research. I wish I had talked everyone into doing my topic haha
dedkid666~ that's great to hear you've decided to think more about it. you can never think too much about something that will be on your body forever.
