lmfao stephie! *ahem* just for the record - steve irwin and other *famous* aussies that sound like him - we dont really sound like him. Well not all of us atleast lol Some of us aussies have a stronger accent than we realise but sometimes its really exaggerated. (although I will admit that when i go overseas to see family in noumea i take on this patriotic ocka persona - lmao! then all of a sudden everyone becomes mate - which I dont really even say all that much here lol) Unless of course I happen to be brandishing a knife - it's kinda hard to resist the paul hogan (crocodile dundee) line *thats not a knife... THIS is a knife* lol Feel free to ask any australia related questions as I will be more than happy to dispel the myths myth 1: I have kangaroos in my back yard fact: I live in sydney, you need to either go to the zoo or outside of the city to find wild free roaming roos... like out past windsor where my grandmother lives - there are also emus out that way)

lol i have to agree there... i dont say gday mate either but I think stephie has to meet my uncle - you'd never know he was french. He sounds *almost* like steve irwin lol Stephie i laughed when i read the "sheila" thing this morning and i thought "who the hell says that anymore?!" then in the car on the way back from work my mum called a girl on the road a dumb sheila lmao! I havent heard her say that but, just so you know people do use it here - depends on the person. You might even hear bird in place of sheila ;D and i'll throw this in for good measure we don't throw shrimps on the barbie... and to be honest I've never been to a bbq where anyone has done that - lol ;D Only some people in Oz are lucky enough to have aussie wildlife in their backyards - like koalas (maybe not so much roos tho), but its those same people who suffer during our summers because we get terrible bush fires here. I feel so much for the people & animals who live out blue mountains way or any of the other fire hazard areas in Oz for that matter...
